Westminster – the place to see and be seen 30 million people can’t be wrong

I feel very proud and excited to be working in Westminster at the moment, St. Ermin’s could not be located in a more vibrant part of London. The City of Westminster has always been a popular destination, with over 30 million visitors a year and St. Ermin’s could not be better placed for guests wanting to explore its top attractions – most of which are only a short walk from the hotel.

In a recent survey carried out by AOL to find out the top 10 tourist attractions in London, it included: Buckingham Palace (No 1), Trafalgar Square (No 3), Big Ben (No 5), London Eye (No 7) – all on St. Ermin’s doorstep. I am sure next year Westminster Abbey will be in this list, as the visitor numbers have shot up since the Royal Wedding. With this in mind, we are now offering guests bespoke 90 minute tours around the Abbey that will give attendees a unique insight into this historic monument. Please contact me at the Concierge desk if you are interested in booking this memorable tour.

Whilst London is crammed full with world-known attractions, it is also home to some lesser known, but equally exciting attractions. One of mine is the Monument (closest tube Monument, 12 minutes from St James’s Park) it offers one of the best views in London. The Monument is 202 feet high because it is 202 feet from the site of the baker’s house in Pudding Lane where the Great Fire of London started in 1666. There are 311 stairs to climb but you do get a certificate to say you’ve done it!

I am sure that there are many hidden gems you have discovered on your trips to London, I would love to hear about them, so please let me know your favourite secret or not so well known attractions.
