Filming Policy

St. Ermin’s Hotel Photography & Filming Policy.

We welcome photography and filming in our hotel when conducted with respect for our guests, staff, and property. This policy outlines what is permitted for personal use and for commercial purposes.


Section 1 – Private / Personal Photography & Filming

This applies to hotel guests, visitors, or anyone capturing images or video for personal use only, including sharing on private or personal social media accounts (non-commercial).

Respect for Privacy – Guests and visitors must not photograph, video, or livestream other guests, visitors, or staff without their express permission.

Restricted Areas – Photography and filming are not permitted in back-of-house areas, staff-only spaces, or any location where safety or security could be compromised.

Public Areas – Discreet photography is permitted in public areas (lobby, bar, restaurants, lounges), provided it does not inconvenience other guests, block walkways, or disrupt hotel operations.

Events & Private Functions – If a private event or wedding is taking place, photography/filming must be limited to invited attendees unless otherwise agreed.

Equipment – The use of tripods, drones, professional lighting, or other large equipment is not permitted without prior written approval.

Commercial Intent – Any photography or filming intended for commercial, promotional, or media use (including influencer collaborations, brand partnerships, or professional shoots) falls under Section 2.



Section 2 – Commercial Photography & Filming

This applies to any photography, filming, or content creation undertaken for commercial purposes, including but not limited to film/TV productions, advertising campaigns, brand or product shoots, media features, and influencer or sponsored content.

Prior Permission Required – All commercial filming or photography must be arranged in advance and approved by the hotel’s Director of Sales & Marketing by emailing twalsh@sterminshotel.co.uk

Approval Process – Requests should outline the nature of the project, locations required, proposed equipment, crew size, and intended use of the content.

Agreed & Contracted Spaces – Filming will only be permitted in areas outlined within the contract or written agreement between the hotel and client. St. Ermin’s Hotel does not give permission for any content filmed outside these areas to used under any circumstances.

Minimising Disruption – Approved shoots must be conducted in a manner that avoids disruption to hotel guests, staff, or normal operations.

Set & Property Rules – No major set construction, alterations, or damage to the property are permitted. Any decorations, props, or modifications must be approved in advance and all spaces must be returned to their original condition.

Insurance & Compliance – Production companies are required to hold adequate public and employer’s liability insurance. External filming licenses or permits (if required) are the responsibility of the production company.

Guest & Staff Participation – Guests and staff must not be approached to appear in any commercial production without prior written consent from the hotel.

Reputation & Safeguarding – Content must not portray the hotel in a way that could damage its reputation, brand image, or the comfort and privacy of its guests. A script, storyboard, or concept may be requested for review prior to approval.

Hotel Name & Branding Consent – If any organisation intends to use the hotels name, logo, or images of the exterior of the hotel, this must be agreed in writing with the hotel.
